PLANNED PERC ACTIVITIES FOR 2010 (Update)

1. PLANNED VISIT TO PENANG WATER CORPORATION (PBAPP)

The planned visit to PBAPP’s IT Centre scheduled for 4 February 2010 (subsequently postponed to 4 March 2010) did not take place. PBAPP was only able to offer us a visit to the Air Itam Dam Theme Park but were unable to entertain our request for a visit to the IT Centre. We were told that there was systems development work going on. As the main purpose of the event was a visit to the IT Centre, PERC suggested a later date for the visit. However, as there has been no further development on the matter, PERC treats the proposed visit cancelled. Visits to alternative organizations were arranged instead.

2. PERC-MNCC VISIT NO. 2 of 2010 – PROFESSIONAL VISIT TO VISIT TO TELEKOM MALAYSIA’s SUBMARINE CABLE STATION AT KUALA MUDA

PERC-MNCC is organising a professional visit to Telekom Malaysia’s (TM) Submarine Cable Station situated in Kuala Muda on the mainland on 27 May 2010 from 9.30 am to 11.30 am. The cable station consisting of 4 main buildings, is designed to provide high capacity network for voice and data traffic between Malaysia and 51 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe. Details of this visit are contained in our email dated 12th may 2010 and our PERC Bits No. 5 of 2009/2010 sent out earlier to you on 13th May 2010. This is a good opportunity for members to familiarise themselves with state-of-the art communication systems and solutions to be more productive and efficient. Please confirm your participation as soon as possible before 20 May 2010 to krish8@streamyx.com to avoid disappointment.

3. PERC-MNCC 21st AGM ON 19 JUNE 2010
The Penang Regional Centre, Malaysian National Computer Confederation (PERC-MNCC) AGM will be held on 19th June 2010 @ 4.30 pm at Bangunan MAKSAK (formerly Kelab Ilham), 225 Jalan Macalister, Pulau Pinang. Hope you will find some time to attend the AGM to lend us your support and share your ideas with us.
